Objectives

Ensuring your energy systems operate safely and effectively, while lowering your energy costs and reducing emissions. This co-funding helps with paying for experts to tune and calibrate your on-site equipment, so it’s more efficient and saves on energy.

Eligibility

  • Open to New Zealand-registered businesses and public sector organisations that spend more than $3 million a year on stationary energy (that used in fixed locations).
  • Co-funding is capped at 40% of the cost of optimising an energy system, up to a maximum of $100,000.

What kind of project is this co-funding for?

Projects to optimise any of these energy systems are suitable (may include optimising software):

  • HVAC
  • lighting
  • building management systems (BMS)
  • supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems
  • process heat — boilers, furnaces, steam, and hot water
  • compressed air
  • refrigeration
  • pumps and motors.

We aim to provide enough support to get cost-effective projects over the line. Our funding is usually enough to ensure the project meets your investment criteria.

Things to be aware of

If your proposed project has a payback period of under 2 years, it won’t be eligible for co-funding.

To receive full co-funding, your project must deliver a certain level of energy savings. We can talk you through what this means for any project you have in mind.
