How we can support you
We offer funding and support to help New Zealanders stay warm, dry and prepared for emergencies in their homes and communities.
Warmer Kiwi Homes
1 minute
This scheme offers government-subsidised insulation and heaters to Kiwis who own and live in houses built before 2008, who also meet other eligibility criteria such as having a Community Services or SuperGold Card, or living in an area defined as low income. More than 150,000 installations of subsidised insulation and heaters have already made homes around Aotearoa New Zealand warmer, drier and healthier.
Grants cover:
- 80-90% of the total cost of ceiling and underfloor insulation installed in your home. In some areas, community organisations may top up the funding to make the cost to you even lower.
- Up to 80% of the cost of an approved heater installed in your home.
