Gas supply is tightening in New Zealand, creating greater cost and supply uncertainty for commercial and industrial businesses.
EECA has expanded its independent advisory support to help businesses reduce their reliance on reticulated natural gas, improve energy efficiency and develop investment-ready energy projects. This complements financing available through the Government's Gas Transition Loan Guarantee Scheme.
Join a regional business roadshow
EECA and BusinessNZ are hosting regional workshops across the North Island to help businesses understand the steps they can take now, while planning for larger efficiency, renewable energy or fuel-switching projects.
The aim is to lower energy costs, improve resilience and make confident energy decisions.
This is for you if:
- You own or operate a business – from small to medium energy users, through to larger sites – that uses reticulated natural gas (minimum gas use of 1000 GJ of energy per year)
- You’re concerned about rising energy bills and want to understand how to cut costs
- You’re interested in exploring options for energy efficiency or alternative fuels like electricity or biomass
- You’ve already begun exploring alternatives to gas but want expert advice on what to do next
- You want to connect with your local bank, energy provider, or business experts to discuss options
- You want to get investment-ready for when your existing system reaches the end of its life
- You provide advice to businesses who use reticulated natural gas and would like to find out more about government support for energy efficiency and alternative fuels.
What to expect from the roadshow
You’ll get practical advice and hear about the available support for every stage of your project.
- Kick off with tea/coffee and networking, doors open at 8.30am for refreshments with a 9.00am start time
- Presentations on how to reduce reliance on gas and cut costs, renewable energy options, and what support is available to help your businesses plan for the future.
- Q&A with the experts on financing energy projects – including BusinessNZ, EECA, bank representatives and businesses who have already reduced their gas use.
- Connect with businesses and key industry players throughout the session, including representatives from participating banks and energy companies.
