Objectives

To support gas users who are facing high prices and difficulty securing supply contracts. This walk-through energy audit will outline immediate actions that can be taken to improve energy efficiency on site, and options for new fuel or technology in the medium to long term.

Eligibility

  • New Zealand registered businesses that spend between $30,000 and $250,000 a year on piped natural gas.
  • The business must be using reticulated (piped) natural gas as a source of stationary/thermal energy.
  • Funding is capped at a maximum of $3,000 excluding GST.

What kind of project is this for?

An introductory energy audit by a qualified, EECA-approved service provider to visit your site and identify your main energy efficiency opportunities and renewable energy option(s) for your site.

Following the site visit a short report summarising this information will be provided by the service provider to the business. The report will include:

  • a minimum of three energy efficiency opportunities
  • information on practical technology and renewable energy option(s) that could be explored

  • indicative operating energy/cost savings and magnitude of capital required

  • recommended next steps and timing, and where to get further information.

EECA will provide up to $3,000 excluding GST to cover the full cost of the site assessment and related report for eligible businesses.
