Are you passionate about ensuring regulatory standards are met and exceeded? Do you thrive in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment where your expertise in compliance can make a real difference?

 

Due to recent turnover, we are looking for a Senior Compliance Advisor to play a key role in shaping and delivering New Zealand’s energy efficiency compliance framework. This is your opportunity to work with a high-performing, collaborative team committed to regulatory best practice under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2000.

 

You’ll lead continuous improvement initiatives, oversee risk-based compliance programmes, and engage directly with industry to ensure appliances, equipment, and vehicles meet mandatory energy performance and labelling requirements across New Zealand and Australia.

 

EECA’s compliance monitoring programme includes both office-based and some inspection activity around New Zealand.

You’ll bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a deep understanding of compliance and regulation. In addition, you will bring:

  • Solid experience in regulatory compliance and enforcement, preferably within a technical or environmental context
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills across a range of stakeholders
  • Familiarity with contract management, procurement, and project coordination
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills

  • The ability to understand and interpret technical information related to energy performance
  • A genuine interest in regulatory systems and compliance innovation
