He angitūtanga | The opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, we are now looking for a Senior Advisor - Communications to play a key role in shaping and delivering EECA’s strategic communications programme and supporting EECA’s position as an authority on energy efficiency and the use of renewable forms of energy.

 

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Create compelling, audience-centric content for diverse channels – ranging from media releases and opinion editorials to digital and long-form content
  • Deliver communications advice and tactical support for our programme teams  
  • Develop and execute proactive media strategies that position EECA as a credible voice on energy topics
  • Manage day-to-day media enquiries and build relationships with key media suppliers and journalists
  • Provide ministerial support as required
  • Identify and manage communications risks in a complex industry 

 

 

He kōrero mōu | Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Communications – either in a PR private sector role or Government agency

  • Strong written communication skills in different styles – from campaign work through to corporate communications

  • Experience developing and delivering proactive media strategies

  • Capability in issues management

  • Experience in stakeholder engagement as part of communications planning

  • An interest in energy-related topics and a willingness to learn

  • Knowledge of the energy sector would be an advantage but is not essential
