He angitūtanga | The opportunity

We're looking for a curious, people-focused UX/Product Designer to help shape the future of EECA’s digital products. Your UX and Product design skills will have real impact by creating intuitive digital tools and experiences that make it easier for New Zealanders to understand and take action around their energy use.

 

This is a hands-on design role, working from research through to a user interface that is clear and easy to understand, with a mix of discovery, collaboration, and creative problem-solving.

 

In this role you will:

  • Work closely with the Digital Product Manager and technical leads from discovery to the implementation of solutions
  • Collaborate on research to understand user needs, behaviours and motivations
  • Lead the product design process to create superior user experiences for new digital tools
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, and artefacts
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design and research methods in the team.

 

He kōrero mōu | About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in UX/UI design for digital products or a related field, ideally in government or complex service environments

  • Experience designing and creating user personas, journey maps and experience flows
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools like Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD (Figma preferred).

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously in a small team
  • Familiarity with data visualisation
