Peak Efficiency is a New Zealand-owned energy efficiency company specialising in LED lighting upgrades and practical energy efficiency solutions for schools and businesses. The company focuses on projects that reduce energy costs and emissions while improving operational performance with minimal disruption.

Through its GreenSaver programme, delivered in partnership with Quadrent, Peak Efficiency provides structured finance solutions that enable organisations to implement LED lighting upgrades without upfront capital investment. The company draws on experience delivering energy efficiency projects to more than 200 schools across New Zealand.

GreenSaver programme

Peak Efficiency delivers energy efficiency projects through the GreenSaver programme in partnership with Quadrent.

GreenSaver is a structured finance solution, typically delivered through a lease-to-own arrangement, enabling organisations to undertake LED lighting upgrades with no upfront capital contribution. Repayments are aligned with the energy savings generated by the project.

Finance is provided through a fixed-rate lease structure with quarterly repayments over agreed contract terms, typically ranging from three to seven years depending on project size, savings profile and customer requirements.

Areas of expertise

Performance-based energy finance solutions

Through the GreenSaver programme, Peak Efficiency provides structured financing solutions designed to remove upfront capital barriers for energy efficiency projects. Repayment structures are aligned with expected energy savings generated by the upgrade.

LED lighting and energy efficiency upgrades

The company specialises in LED lighting upgrades and associated energy efficiency improvements designed to deliver measurable energy savings and operational benefits across commercial and public sector facilities.

Project capability

Project size: NZ$5,000 to NZ$1 million

Delivery approach: Energy efficiency assessments, project delivery and lighting upgrades delivered using accredited contractors under Peak Efficiency management.

Project process

Peak Efficiency typically begins projects with an energy efficiency assessment to identify suitable upgrade opportunities and estimate potential energy and cost savings.

For lighting projects, this generally includes a site walkthrough and review of operating hours and existing lighting infrastructure. Energy consumption information, including recent electricity invoices or interval data where available, is used to establish performance baselines and support savings calculations. Basic feasibility and compliance checks may also be undertaken where required.

Funding and ownership

Repayment and risk

The GreenSaver programme is delivered through a fixed-rate lease-to-own financing structure managed in partnership with Quadrent. Lease payments are generally made quarterly and include fixed financing costs agreed at the beginning of the contract term.

Technical design, installation and project delivery risks are managed by Peak Efficiency using accredited contractors under fixed-scope delivery arrangements. Equipment performance is supported through manufacturer warranties, while financing and payment risks are carried by Quadrent under the lease structure.

No upfront capital contribution is generally required from customers. Financing is arranged through a third-party provider and managed by Peak Efficiency.

Ownership

During the agreement: Equipment is generally owned by the provider under a lease-to-own arrangement.

At the end of the agreement: Ownership transfers automatically to the customer at the completion of the lease term.
