The Publicly Available Specification (PAS) for high temperature heat pumps will help to reduce information barriers around the uptake of efficient, low-emission alternatives to coal boilers.

This PAS will be based on a review of available heat pump/vapour compression international standards, including the methodology in AS/NZS 4334:20XX Heated water systems – Calculation of energy consumption, recently released for public consultation.

In recognition of the variety of use scenarios for high temperature heat pumps, smaller heat pumps suitable for use in applications such as heating in schools are covered along with industrial and commercial heat pump process heat applications.

A draft of the PAS for public comment is available.
