Leading the Charge – National EV Road-trip

When: 19 April- 9 May
Where: Bluff - Whangarei

This time travelling south to north, the 2017 Leading the Charge road-trip starts in Bluff on 19 April, running through to Whangarei on May 9.  The aim of the road trip is to talk to as many members of the public as possible as a way of promoting electric vehicle (EV) technology, and provide see/ride/drive opportunities. EECA are again a sponsor.

Local Government NZ- National Conference

When: 23-25 July
Where: Auckland

LGNZ's 2017 conference will focus on creating pathways to 2050: liveable spaces and loveable places.  There will be a strong focus on future thinking and creating liveable communities. EECA will be an exhibitor with a stand presence to promote EVs

evworld NZ Expo

When: 8-9 September 2017
Where: Auckland

evworld NZ is a National event which will serve as focal point to grow
the EV fleet in New Zealand by providing education, advice and
EV experiences to New Zealand consumers, business owners, fleet and
procurement managers and key stakeholders in the EV ecosystem.

Climate Change & Business Conference

When: 11-12 October 2016
Where: Auckland

A trans-Tasman forum for policy-makers and leaders in business and local government to discuss the challenges of climate change and explore responses. The conference covered key climate change issues: international and domestic policy, carbon markets and the transition to a low-carbon economy.

A low emission freight sector for New Zealand

When and where : 5 October 2016 - Auckland, 6 October 2016 - Christchurch, 7 October 2016 - Wellington                            

EECA and the Sustainable Business Council invited contribution to the design of a low emissions freight sector for NZ. It was a great opportunity for industry to come together and discuss how to collaborate to reduce emissions and improve efficiencies. Internationally renowned expert on freight sector emissions and reduction schemes, Sophie Punte, shared how world leading freight businesses are moving to integrated, low emission, intermodal networks.

Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards 2016
When: 10 August 2016
Where: Auckland

The Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards provide an annual opportunity to recognise excellence and achievement across electricity, gas, petroleum and transport energy industries. EECA sponsored the Large Energy User of the Year award.

Local Government New Zealand conference
When: 24-26 July 2016
Where: Dunedin

The conference focused on place making – creating places where people love to live, work and play. EECA sponsored keynote speaker Jeb Brugmann, Founder of ICLEI, Local Governments for Sustainability and Managing Partner of The Next Practice.

EECA Awards 2016

When: 18 May 2016

The EECA Awards celebrate excellence and innovation in energy efficiency or renewable energy. Winners were announced at an awards ceremony on 18 May 2016.

Asia-Pacific Energy Leaders’ Summit

When: 16 - 17 March 2016
Where: Wellington

This was the first event of its kind in New Zealand, jointly hosted by the World Energy Council the BusinessNZ Energy Council. It brought together high level decision-makers from the region’s public and private sectors to share ideas, experiences and resources on resilient energy infrastructure – how we can plan for it, play for it, manage risks, collaborate and jointly find solutions.

Mike Underhill, EECA’s Chief Executive, facilitated an afternoon of discussion about resilience, energy efficiency and the shared economy.
