Read about the project

In an initiative with Waiuku Museum, Counties Power installed a charging station at the Waiuku Agriculture and Machinery Museum on Kitchener Road.

Counties Power is a Pukekohe-based electricity distribution company that services Southern Auckland and Northern Waikato areas. They have run a small fleet of EVs since 2013.

Demand for the facility was strong from the outset, with 84 charging sessions in a single month.

The charging station enables the uptake of electric vehicles by local businesses and community as well as establishing Waiuku as a destination for EV users from out of town.

This project was approved for $30,000 of co-funding from round three of the Low Emission Vehicles Contestable Fund.
