Transport – Efficient and low-emissions transport
The transport sector is responsible for about 21%* of New Zealand’s energy-related emissions and provides the largest opportunity for increasing energy efficiency and lowering our energy-related emissions. Less than one percent of our transport is fuelled by renewable energy sources. EECA manages the Low Emissions Vehicles Contestable Fund, which is aimed at increasing EV and other low-emission transport. We also work with government agencies to deliver information and analysis on EVs, and run the all of government EV information campaign.
