Mō te tūnga | About the role

The Data and Analytics Team is primarily focused on collating, modelling and analysing data as it relates to EECA’s work programmes – ensuring that EECA makes informed decisions based on robust evidence, and therefore is able to maintain its position as an authority on energy efficiency and the use of renewable forms of energy.  

The key focus of the Cloud Engineer is to collaborate with the Data & Analytics team to design, develop, maintain and operate EECA’s “Data Platform” and related products and services. 

The primary responsibilities of this role include leading the workstream of EECA’s Data Platform; delivering high quality infrastructure code; providing thought leadership and expertise; and liaising with key stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring: 

  • 3 – 7 years’ of relevant industry experience 
  • Demonstrated experience in IaC, DevOps methodologies and tools, use of scripting and programming languages, and experience working in an agile collaborative environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with a willingness to learn and share knowledge through coaching, mentoring, and training. 

It would be an added bonus if you have: 

  • Familiarity with containerization and deployment technologies and best practices 
  • Familiarity with data engineering practices, tools and services 
  • Familiarity with database development and scripting
