ENERGY STAR® product categories

In New Zealand the ENERGY STAR mark is found on a range of different product categories - from heat pumps and dishwashers to televisions and office equipment. 

To qualify for ENERGY STAR products have to meet the requirements outlined in the specification, which are designed so that around the top 25 percent most efficient models in each category qualify.

These are improved and upgraded at various intervals to keep up with advances in product technology.

Heating and cooling:

• Heat pumps
• Ducted heat pumps

Home entertainment products:

• Audio / video equipment 
• Televisions 

Office equipment:

• Computers
• Monitors and displays 

• Imaging equipment (MFDs, printers, scanners and faxes)

Lighting:

• Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL)
• LED light bulbs
