Step 4: Statistical information
If you import or manufacture a product that is regulated for energy efficiency, you must provide statistical information to EECA each year.
Providing statistical information
Importers and NZ manufacturers of products covered by the energy efficiency regulations are legally required to provide statistical information on sales, import and export data annually to EECA. This is used to help measure the shift in product efficiency over time.
EECA is required to treat statistical information confidentially and may only publish information in a form that does not identify suppliers.
Data needs to be submitted each year by 1 August, for the period 1 April to 31 March. For example, data from 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2012 must be received by 1 August 2012.
How to provide your statistical information
This year an EECA Sales data return online tool has been created to overcome some of the issues experienced with the previous spreadsheet method.
The tool has been created within the EECA website and links directly to the energyrating.gov.au product database. No more spreadsheets!

If you cannot remember your username and/or password:
- click the 'login and start now', and
- click the 'request new password' tab, and
- enter your email address.
If your email address is not recognised but your company provided sales data last year please email salesdata@eeca.govt.nz with your company and contact person details. EECA will email you your account details.
If you did not provide information last year and have not got an account you will need to setup a new user account see below.
Set up a new user account
To set up a user account you will need to provide your company details. One user is set up for each company.
Once you have provided your company details, EECA will review them and send you an email confirming your account has been created.
