Minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) apply to double capped tubular fluorescent lamps over 550mm long, with a nominal rating of 16W or more.
Importers and manufacturers may not sell fluorescent lamps unless they are tested and comply with the Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Regulations 2002.
Ballasts for fluorescent lamps are also subject to MEPS.
