The products listed on this page are covered by energy efficiency regulations and must meet certain requirements before they can legally be sold in New Zealand.

the legal requirements that must be met for affected products
which products are covered the regulations, and
the relevant product standards that apply to each product (listed in schedules 1 and/or 2).
Product standards contain details specific to a product type, such as:
exactly which products are affected (the scope), and any exemptions.
the required minimum energy performance standard (MEPS) levels and/or details of energy rating label requirements (typically found in part 2 of the Standard)
how the product must be tested to demonstrate its energy performance (typically found in part 1 of the Standard).
