The Otago District Health Board's Wakari hospital in Dunedin is facing a high and increasing bill for the LPG that it is burning for space heating and domestic hot water. An alternative energy source is needed that is both sustainable and affordable in the long term. This report looks at the alternatives to LPG, estimates the likely fuel costs and the capital costs of the most attractive.
