Gasification case study
For businesses with ready access to wood fuel or other forms of biomass, gasification could be an attractive way to produce low cost, low-emission heat and electricity.
This article outlines how gasification differs from thermal combustion, its applications in co-generation or combined cycle generation, and how it can help businesses meet increasingly stringent air emission regulations without extensive filtration equipment. We also introduce three NZ businesses offering expertise in the technology: AES and Windsor Engineering, representing the internationally-established Ankur and Agder Biocom gasifier options respectively, and Page Macrae Engineering, which has nearly 10 years experience running gasifiers in local conditions.
