Setting and implementing an energy management policy has helped ANZ National Bank achieve significant energy savings.
Part of their energy management programme, evaluated the lighting used in their premises. Installing more efficient lighting tubes has created a direct energy saving worth around $50,000 a year. Further savings were achieved in electrical maintenance, where costs have dropped from $150,000 a year to around $10,000.
Compact fluorescent lamps in sizes up to 180 watts can replace mercury vapour and metal halide lamps up to 400 watts - using less power, producing less heat and switching on instantly.
