This page lists upcoming and proposed measures under EECA's product energy efficiency forward work plan.
It includes investigation and development of Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) and labelling for specified products. Some of the items on the workplan are new, and others are updates to current Standards.
The forward work plan has been developed in conjuntion with the Equipment Energy Efficiency (E3) Programme.

Proposed investigation of MEPS
Investigation of energy efficiency strategies, including new MEPS, has been proposed for the following groups of products during 2009 - 2011.
- Gas space heaters and decorative appliances
- Heating and cooling - portable air conditioners, multi-split air conditioners and evaporative air conditioners
Long-term strategies
Under the Equipment Energy Effciency (E3) programme, strategies for increasing energy efficiency over the long term are being investigated for the following end-use areas:
- Commercial refrigeration
- Industrial products (including air compressors, industrial fans and industrial pumps)
