Innovation fund project – HPWH in Burnham Military Camp
This project has installed ten heat pump water heaters in the homes of army personel in the Burnham military camp in Christchurch. These systems are being monitored and compared to the energy usage in ten homes that are using electric hot water cylinders.
The properties at Burnham are tenanted, so this will provide an example of where landlords can make an investment that will benefit their tenants' energy costs.
The installations will be monitored for twelve months and the final results are expected in May 2010.
