Innovation fund project - heat pump water heaters in school hostels

In this project, Kipping Heating Systems Ltd will be installing and then monitoring a number of heat pump water heaters in the boarding houses at Christchurch Boys High School and Rangi Ruru Girls College in Christchurch.

The boarding houses have a high hot water demand and it is estimated that the schools will see significant savings with the heat pump water heater installations.

Both sites will be monitored for their water and electricity usage and the energy savings will be assessed at the end of the project.
