Marine energy funding goes to WET-NZ wave energy proposal

A proposal to generate electricity from wave energy has been awarded $760,000 in the second round of the Marine Energy Deployment Fund, which aims to get marine energy devices into our New Zealand waters.

WET-NZ's project, which was put forward by Power Projects Ltd and Industrial Research Ltd, involves constructing and deploying a pre-commercial, half-scale device with a peak capacity of 20 kilowatts.

Find out more about the project in the media release.
