Whakamarama School is a small, country primary school with 60 children currently on the roll. All children swim everyday - once for class swimming and again optionally at lunchtime, which most of them take up! They intend to continue this right until the end of Easter. In addition, around 30 families from both the school and local community have used the pool during the summer holidays and continue to do so outside of school hours and at weekends.

"The solar water heating has transformed our pool into one the children dreaded using - many of the smaller children unable to remain in the pool for their lessons because of the cold water, into a well used school and community asset. We are able to deliver effective swimming instruction as well as offering the children and families a facility to make the most of their leisure time and really enjoy the summer."
