Roto-o-Rangi School is a Contributing Rural School with 113 pupils.
The pool is used by the attending pupils on a daily basis. Locals from within the district are able to purchase a key from the school which then enables them to use ithe pool outside school hours. Up to 150 people can use the pool every day.
The back flush is 1% of pool volume per day. The unglazed collector is expected to provide 13.1 MWh of energy to the pool during November to March (based on Auckland weather data).

"We, at Roto-o-Rangi School, are pleased with the very good efficiency of the solar heating system. Temperatures are up in the 27-32 degree Celcius range regularly.
Warm water temperatures have meant we have not always used the pool cover - especially during the very warm months of January and February as we have wanted to maintain a temperature to give pool users a refreshing swim.
We are very pleased with the fact that we have installed a system such as this one."
