Roger Sutton appointed ECCA Chair

Energy Minister David Parker today announced the appointment of Roger Sutton as chairperson of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA).

Mr Sutton is the Chief Executive of Orion New Zealand Limited, the Christchurch based electricity network company. Mr Sutton has many years experience in the energy sector. He has served on various working groups, including the New Zealand Electricity Rules Committee, and is also a director of Energetics, Australia's largest specialist energy efficiency consultancy.
Roger Sutton has been a member of the EECA Board since July 2005, more recently in the role of Deputy Chair.

‘I am pleased to welcome Roger Sutton as chair of the EECA,’ Mr Parker said. ‘EECA is instrumental in the development and implementation of New Zealand’s energy strategies. Roger’s experience and enthusiasm will be extremely valuable as we work towards achieving our goal of a sustainable New Zealand.’
