Free energy advice line

A new, free advice phone line has been launched in the Wellington region to help people take steps towards having – and enjoying – a home that’s warmer, drier and more energy efficient.

The pilot helpline, run by the Wellington community-based Sustainability Trust, is free to residents in the Wellington, Hutt Valley and Kapiti Coast regions and can answer questions on all household energy issues including home heating, insulation and water heating. The service operates weekdays 10am-4pm.

EECA’s Chief Executive Mike Underhill welcomed the new advice line at its launch.

“Home heating, insulation and water heating systems all cost a fair amount of money, so making sure people get the best solution for their situation means they will also get the maximum benefits from reduced power bills and a healthier living environment,” he said.
