New Zealand Clean Energy Centre Renewable Energy Award

The New Zealand Clean Energy Centre (NZCEC) is focused on lowering New Zealand’s carbon footprint by accelerating innovation in, and uptake of clean, renewable energy. Initial areas of focus are geothermal and biomass. Within these areas we are actively seeking to engage in projects that replace fossil fuel use with the use of energy from geothermal and/or biomass, as well as projects that leverage previously wasted or underutilized geothermal heat or biomass.

For qualifying projects, the NZCEC will help conduct feasibility studies and develop investment-ready business plans; provide access to specialists who can add value to the project; assist in securing project funding; and make investments that accelerate the uptake of clean energy use. The NZCEC also aims to cluster clean energy businesses, entrepreneurs, consultants and scientists in a collaborative environment that fosters innovation and partnerships. The NZCEC is owned by Lake Taupo Development Company.
