Upgrading the electric motor controls on Nelson Pine Industries’ fan systems has delivered substantial cost savings – with a less than two year payback. Six months after all nine variable speed drive installations, monitoring showed a reduction of 1,400,000 kWh per annum for a typical production year. The result represents a 51% reduction in electricity usage for the fan systems, equating to a cost saving of around $127,300 each year to Nelson Pine.
