    Energy efficiency and conservation measures and increasing the use of energy from renewable sources can make a significant contribution to reducing carbon emissions while at the same time benefiting individuals through lower costs and a healthier environment.

    This Statement of Intent sets out the medium-term intentions and undertakings of EECA, specifically the outcomes, impacts and outputs that EECA aims to deliver over the next three years.

    The performance to be achieved by EECA for the year ending 30 June 2010 that is specified in the Statement of Intent is as agreed with the Minister of Energy and Resources, who is the Minister responsible for overseeing and managing the Crown's interests in EECA.
