EECA’s products programme makes energy efficiency information easily available so  consumers can make informed decisions when comparing products.

Energy performance information is made available to consumers on energy rating labels. The labels allow consumers to compare the energy performance of competing models.

EECA is also exploring an endorsement labelling programme, which will let customers know which are the most efficient products in an appliance category.

Minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) ensure that only efficient products are available for sale. Products must be tested and shown to meet a minimum standard for energy consumption.

EECA is currently working with the Ministry for the Environment on regulations for water efficiency labelling, and with the Ministry of Transport on options for labelling vehicles.

Compliance Newsletter

Keep up-to-date with the Equipment Energy Efficiency (E3) compliance newsletter. The newsletter features information about what is happening in the industry with compliance and reports on the overall success of the programme, as well as regular updates on the many different issues and activities for all stakeholders.

The E3 Committee, consists of officials from Australian State and Territory government agencies and representatives from New Zealand, and is responsible for managing the Australian and New Zealand end-use energy efficiency program.
