Grants for government buildings

The Government want public sector organisations to play an important leadership role in increasing the use of renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy efficiency and inspiring New Zealanders to take personal responsibility for their energy.

Funding is available to help public sector organisations establish the feasibility of solar water heating, or install solar water heating systems in buildings they own.

Public sector organisations including government departments, territorial local authorities, Crown entities, Crown-owned companies, district health boards, schools and universities are eligible to apply for a Feasibility Study Grant, an Installation Grant, or both.
