Information and awareness
To use energy more wisely we need information about the options available to us. Research shows that a lack of information is a barrier to people making changes; that is they want to save energy but are not sure what to do.
Our information and awareness programme
Our information and awareness programmes promote the importance of energy efficiency and conservation, and provide the information to enable people to make informed choices. Information underpins all of our work programmes
We target businesses, government and people at home, highlighting the choices people have and the tools that are available to help them make those choices , such as energy efficiency labelling. We promote the various government funding options available to help people take action.
We provide information to New Zealanders through a number of channels including television, radio, and print, printed material, events, websites, sponsorship and speaking opportunities, and proactive media communications.
We also undertake regular research into public attitudes and behaviour in relation to energy efficiency, and stakeholder research.
