Electric motors programme
Our electric motors programme aims to:
- speed up the replacement of in-service three-phase motors with those that meet minimum energy performance standards;
- ensure that the efficiency of the in-service three-phase motors is maintained through quality repairs and sound replacement and repair policies.
This programme has three areas of focus:
- The Electric Motors Bounty Scheme, which aims to permanently remove older inefficient motors by paying motor users up to $7,400 towards the cost of replacing those motors with newer, more efficient ones. The scheme is for three-phase motors sized between 22 kW and 265 kW that meet certain criteria.
- A Motor (Replacement v Repair) Policy Development Guide to help managers develop policies to simplify decision making on the replacement - compared with retention and repair - of three-phase electric motors.
- Supporting those members of the motor rewind industry that adopt the quality systems specified under the Telarc Motor Rewind Workshop Quality Code. This is aimed at helping industry maintain the efficiency of repaired motors, and to give motor users confidence in motor rewinders certified under the code.
