Products with energy rating label requirements must display the correct label when they are made available for sale.
Is an energy rating label required?
You can find out whether an energy rating label is required for a product by following the link to the relevant product from the current product standards page.
A product may be required to meet either energy rating label or minimum energy performance requirements, or in some instances both may be required.
How to meet labelling requirements
To meet energy rating label requirements, you must do the following things.
Use the right energy rating label
A template for the energy rating label for each product class covered by labelling can be downloaded from the energy rating website.
Use the correct information
It is your responsibility to ensure the information on the energy rating label accurately represents the product it is displayed on.
Display the label on every product
It is a legal requirement that the energy rating label is printed and attached to, or included with, every product that is sold or displayed.
Display the label in accordance with the product standard
The product standard will provide instructions for generating the energy rating, and the design and placement of the label.
