Central and local government organisations may be eligible for some funding to implement energy efficiency projects and to develop renewable energy opportunities.
You may be able to apply for the following:
Crown loans
We offer loans to help central and local government organisations to implement energy efficiency projects.
Grants for solar water heating
We offer grants for solar water heating for government buildings, especially those using a lot of hot water such as residential facilities.
Grants for wood energy
Wood energy is a good alternative energy source for some government organisations, such as schools. We offer grants for projects to convert to using wood energy.
Grants for distributed generation
Grants for distributed generation projects have helped facilitate the uptake of distributed generation in New Zealand.
Grants for vehicle fleet audits
If your organisation has a fleet of more than 50 vehicles, you may be eligible for a fleet audit grant of up to 50% of the cost of the audit (up to a maximum of $10,000).
Grants for audits
If your organisation uses a lot of energy, you may qualify for a grant for an energy audit or design audit
