Welcome to EECA’s Annual Report 2006 - 2007
The Annual Report documents some of EECA’s achievements in the promotion of energy efficiency and conservation, reporting against our Statement of Intent 2006-2009.
These include:
- Taking the lead in developing the New Zealand Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy – an action plan directing New Zealanders towards energy efficiency at home, at work and in transit.
- Helping the 30,000th family to enjoy the benefits of warmer, drier and healthier homes through the EnergyWise home grants programme.
- Supporting energy efficiency in 148 businesses – together they have reported energy savings valued at over $25 million.
- Awarding the Energy Star mark of exceptional energy efficiency to three more product ranges and working on Minimum Energy Performance Standards and energy rating labels for products. This has achieved savings of approximately $33.7 million.
- Worked with the Department of Building and Housing to make the Building Code more stringent, including developing a new Standard for installing insulation.
The report includes messages from the Minister of Energy, EECA’s new Chairman Roger Sutton and new CEO Mike Underhill.
