Who we are
EECA is the organisation set up by the New Zealand Government to encourage, support and promote energy efficiency, energy conservation, and the use of renewable sources of energy.
We provide people in business and at home with the information, tools, and support they need to make changes in their energy use. We work with many partners to do this - with the private sector, community groups, industry associations, and central and local government.
We undertake many different research projects to make sure we understand the situation in New Zealand and the opportunities for greater uptake of energy efficiency and renewable energy that are available to us. We monitor New Zealand's progress in these areas, with particular focus on how our programmes are contributing to our national goals.
