Governance

EECA is a Crown Entity, established under The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2000. It is subject to the Crown Entities Act 2004.

EECA at a glance

• We are governed by a Board. The Board consists of eight members and reports to the Minister of Energy and Resources.
• The Ministry for Economic Development is responsible for monitoring EECA's performance and advising the Minister on matters relating to EECA.
• We have a Memorandum of Understanding with the Electricity Commission. This specifies how the two organisations work together to promote electricity efficiency.
